One fall day, I asked my dad, "Can we do some gardening?" My dad said, "Sure, let me go buy some seeds." I waited until he got back. When he came back he had a bag of tulip bulbs. I said, "Let us go plant them!" My dad and I watered the plants every day, they grew and grew, but in the winter time the tulips died. I looked out the window, and there were the drooping tulips. Everyday in the winter I looked out the window at least once to see the tulips. Soon I could not see them, because of the snow. I was sad.
One time, I asked, "Why can't the tulips live and not die? Why in the world do they have to die?" Dad said, "I am not sure." That was it. "I am not sure." Next Spring, I had looked out the window, and buds were growing here and there. I was really excited. I grabbed the watering can, and raced outside to water each tiny bud. Soon after that I found out that maybe - just maybe - the flowers shrink in when fall comes and sprouts in the spring. To me, it totally made sense. From that year on, I watered the tulips, and got other flowers for the backyard.

I love tulips, they are beautiful. They are called bulbs, tulips grow out of bulbs.
