A Discovery Made by Purple Pear - A newspaper article

In August, 2010, Purple Pear, a detective, has discovered that one particular thief has been stealing money, jewelry, and trophies from many people in schools and houses. These people have all came to this detective, and relied on her to find out who this thief is so policeman can put him to jail. She has found out! The pictures above and below show him.

This is what the detective said:

“The thief’s name was Flatus Stubbley. It is a weird name right? I have never heard of the name Flatus or Stubbley, but I guess his last name should be Stubbley because his hair was stubbly.”

“Anyway, I found out by getting permission to stay at school after it closed. I stayed behind a corner, and watched the doors on either side of the hallway. Then, I heard a creak as one of the doors opened as slowly as a turtle or snail would move. He was very careful like a pray when it knows it is being watched by a predator. He looked around, but did not see me. The thief went straight to the principal’s desk where the principal has accidently left a pearl bracelet with some other jewelry I could not see well. I forgot to tell you I had a camera. I took out my camera, zoomed in, and took a picture. In some houses, I did the same.”

“When I reported him to the police and they caught him, he confessed, ‘I stole jewelry and trophies -’ ‘and money’ I reminded him. ‘-and money, because I got really angry when students started calling me “Flat Stanley” and “Stubbly hair,” and making jokes about me like, “Hey, dude! Did you get smashed up by a car or what?” I was stunned to hear that. Just to make sure he was telling the truth, I talked to one of his classmate and he immediately brought up the joke that Flatus had told me about. The thief was telling the truth!”

The police let him in jail for only one year instead of three years, because he told the truth and promised not to do it again.

Go to the moon

I was the first one to land on the moon,
I landed there during the afternoon.

On the moon, I floated around,
And, of course, I never frowned.

Before I left with my crew, I brought the United States flag,
After I planted it into the moon, I tried really hard not to brag.

I bought the flag in a bag,
And the flag came with a tag.

When I came back to earth, people cheered,
And nobody ever sneered or jeered.

Proud was my mom and dad,
For after that they never felt sad.

Finding the New Land

8/12/1492

Today, while sailing on Santo Maria, I was feeling stubborn. I was stubborn, because Christopher was saying that we had to keep sailing because he knew that we were close to land. The other crew members and I kept on telling him that we did not want to go farther.

Then, I saw...land. All of us cheered as in the people on the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria. Christopher Columbus calmed us down gradually, and shouted as loud as he could, "See, I told you I knew we were close!" That made us silent. I knew in their other people's heads that they were regretting that they wanted to head back. I was, too. Talking, and whispering started gradually and it grew louder. I still thought it really and truly was a magical miracle to find new land.

Later in the day, we were there in Eastern Asian! (At least I thought we were in Eastern Asian.) We had cheered again, when we first walked on land. We were very excited. All of us got our own packages and hurried to get settled in.

How much CiCi’s Pizza means to Me

I love Cici’s pizza,
It is the greatest thing around.
I eat the pizza,
It makes a familiar crunchy sound.

When I eat pizza at Cici’s,
The crust is always thin,
Salty and doughy,
With lots of stringy cheese makes me grin.

My true love is Cici’s pizza,
I shall never let it go,
Unless I send it to a friend,
Then I’ll wrap it with a pretty bow.

When I’m at Cici’s Pizza,
I feel like I’m on a play date.
When my mom declares I get to go
I simply cannot wait!

If I do not eat pizza,
I shall dream of it every night.
I really do love Cici’s pizza,
It always seems to be right.

Gymnasts

I am pretty good at gymnastics, because I am in level 5 with teenagers - pre teenagers, I mean. They are around 12 years old. I am the youngest one.

I practice four times a week - three times at the gym, each for three hours and once at my home for two hours. At home, S, A and I have a private lesson with some easier skills and round offs are shorter. At the gym we do skills like: (floor) 1. front handspring, step out front handspring. (bar) 2. kips (need help). (beam) 3. kartwheels on high beam. (do not need help. 4. Back-walk-overs on low beam (need help). (vault) 5. Handspring (need help).

I like to do gymnastics partly because you get to be with your friends and get a strong mind. I know gymnastics is dangerous, but you just have to be careful. Bar is my favorite event. My least favorite is beam, although sometimes it is pretty exciting.

Concert - "Echoes Through the Hall"

I hope you like concerts, because on Friday, February 19th at 5:00pm-6:00pm the "Echoes Through the Hall" will plays a gorgeous song about a girl who loses her home. (They will play a couple of other songs, too.) The concert will be right outside the White House in Washington D.C.

The wonderous songs will actually echo through the hall - I mean through the square since it will be outside. It would be like having a story be sung. There will also be delicious food such as popcorn.

I hope you can go and enjoy the fun!
